Flawless Smiles in Two Short Visits

For the majority of people, picture-perfect smiles are not something provided by nature. Even if you have pretty good oral health and do your best to take care of your teeth, you may not see a celebrity-caliber smile in the mirror. In the past, most people considered cosmetic dentistry as something available to only the rich and famous or something that was extremely cost prohibitive and time consuming. Today, things have changed. Cosmetic dentistry has become much more affordable and widely available, and best of all, there are more options that only take one or a few appointments to complete. If you’ve been considering improving the look of your smile, porcelain veneers may be a great option for you. They are a versatile solution that only takes two visits to our dental office to complete, and they can fully recreate your smile. If you’re interested in porcelain veneers or any of our other smile-perfecting treatment options, call the Greeley dental office of Mark R. Smith, DDs & Blake E. Cure, DDS to schedule a cosmetic dentistry consultation with our team of experts today. We look forward to helping you create a flawless smile you’ll be proud to share.

What are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin sheaths of dental-grade ceramic that are affixed to the front surfaces of teeth. That can be used to correct or conceal irregular tooth shape, uneven spacing, severe dental staining, as well as small chips and cracks in teeth.

Who Should Consider Veneers?

This cosmetic dentistry solution is extremely versatile, making veneers a great option for patients with a variety of cosmetic goals. Because we do need to remove a small amount of healthy tooth structure to attach the veneers, this option may not be right for every patient. If we determine during your cosmetic consultation that porcelain veneers aren’t the right choice for you, we will be happy to walk you through some of our more conservative solutions to create your flawless smile.

How are Veneers Placed?

Veneers are placed over the course two trips to our dental office. The first appointment will require an hour or two in our office, but the second visit is short and simple typically completed in under an hour. At your first visit, we prepare the teeth and design your porcelain veneers. Then, we place a temporary set of veneers to protect the teeth. At your second appointment, we simply need to remove the temporaries and place your high quality, lab crafted porcelain veneers.

Do I Need to Change My Oral Hygiene Routine?

For the most part, you can continue to brush and floss your teeth each day as usual. The only changes we may recommend will be to your oral hygiene products. In order to extend the life of your porcelain veneers, we may encourage you to utilize less abrasive products. For instance, ultra soft bristled toothbrushes are ideal, and minimally abrasive toothpastes. Waxed floss or water flossers may also be beneficial to avoid tugging around the sides of your veneers, which may cause them to become dislodged over time.
